Robotics Camp 2026
This camp teaches campers how to build a robot that can solve a Rubik's Cube. The robot will be made of 3D printed parts, stepper motors, cameras, and Raspberry Pi 5 computers. The coding will be done in Java. This project is not only fun and exiting, but learning to code in Java will be a very useful skill later on. The robot they build will solve the cube using various different methods.
Campers get to take home their robot at the end of camp. The Raspberry Pi 5 computer is a fully functioning computer that is easy to use for all kinds of projects.
The 3-day camp will be held from 9:00AM - 4:00PM from August 10 - 12 in Palo Alto.
The age range we are targeting for this is 6th grade and up, but we can be flexible.
This 3-day workshop will be very intensive, but very enjoyable for those who are highly motivated and passionate.
Students in this camp will receive free lunch from 12:00PM - 1:00PM.
Goals
Assemble robot that can turn all six sides of a cube
Code it to perform basic turns
Teach it how to scramble a cube
Teach it to recognize the different colors on the cube with a camera
